Griha Lakshmi Scheme: The Government of Karnataka’s Department of Women and Child Development started the Griha Lakshmi Scheme, which is an important social initiative. Benefits of the Griha Lakshmi Scheme
The best thing about this plan is that it gives you ₹2,000 per month. The money goes straight to the bank account of the person who will get it. Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) sends the money if the bank account is connected to Aadhaar. If the account lacks Aadhaar connectivity, RTGS sends the money. This mechanism ensures that payments are safe and on schedule, without the need for intermediaries.
Eligibility Criteria
The person who wants to apply for the Griha Lakshmi Scheme must meet the following requirements:
- The person who applies must be a woman.
- The ration card should have her name as the head of the family.
- There are two types of ration cards: BPL and APL.
- The family has to live in Karnataka.
Women from households with low incomes are given first preference. If the family head has died, the next eligible woman can sign up for the program.
Who Is Not Eligible
Some families are not covered under this scheme. These include:
- Families where the head of the household is a male.
- Families where the woman is the head of the household and pays income tax, or GST.
Application Process
Women can apply for the scheme through online or offline methods.
Online Application: People who want to apply can go to the Seva Sindhu Guarantee Schemes Portal, sign up using their Aadhaar number and mobile number, fill out the application form, upload the necessary documents, and send the form online (sevasindhugs.karnataka.gov.in). You will get an application reference number after you submit it, so you can keep track of it.
Offline Application: People who want to apply can travel to Grama One, Bangalore One, Karnataka One, or BBMP Ward Offices, or have a government official come to their home to help them sign up. You need to fill out the form, attach the documents, and provide it to the staff.
There is no deadline to apply, and the application process is free.
